Comprehensive tutorial for decorating home baked cakes

using Cake Stickers from Gogo Cake.

 

This tutorial was made for beginners that would like to personalize a cake using edible pictures, photos, logos & images cake decorations. This tutorial covers: * How to apply a edible cake sticker photograph * How to bake a cake out of the box * How to apply icing on a cake

Edible Cake StickerBaking a cake materials

Before we start

 

you can start by choosing a cake sticker design and upload an image or photo. Personalized text can be applied for birthday greetings or any other celebration.

 

Materials

 

You will need the following:

Pillsbury Cake Mix (optional)

  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cup of Water
  • 1/3 cup of Oil (Crisco)
  • Round 8' inch cake pan
  • Cake Frosting
  • Cake Sticker (Gogo Cake Decoration)

You can get all materials from your local grocery store and order the round or rectangle cake sticker from this website.

 

The cake sticker

 

  • Round 8' Inch
  • Rectangle 7.5x10 Inches

you will need to upload a digital photograph on to gogocake.com. 2MB or more files .JPG .GIF .PDF are acceptable formats. Remember that the bigger the picture resolution the better.

 


Cake Mix:

 

You can get a cake mix box in your regular super market for a very low price. Your mayor super market stores have Pillsbury or other generic brands cake mixes that you can choose from.

 

Chocolate or regular yellow vinella cake can be an exellent choise to decorate your first cake.

Round 8' Inch Cake Baking PanVanilla & Chocolate Cake Frosting Products

Ingredients

 

3 Eggs:

For a 18.25 oz box you can use three whole eggs, most of all cake mixes boxes have the same amount of cake mix so keep in mind that you will not be needing extra eggs.

Liquids:

1 cup of Water and 1/3 cup of Oil: Yep you need oil to have a success full cake - We recommend using regular cooking Oil or you can also use Crisco.

Round Cake Pan:

Pans are not expensive and can be found under the party Styrofoam cups and paper plates section of your super market.

 

 

Cake Frosting:

When you look for a cake mix you will probably find a large selection of cake frosting's including vanilla and chocolate.

 

 


Cake Stickers

 

What are Cake Stickers?
Cake Stickers are sugar sheets printed with bakery food coloring. Photographs, Graphics, Logos and other digital media can be transferred in to a edible Cake Sticker Frosting Sheet.

 

How to get a Cake Sticker:
For edible single photos, logos, pictures or designs choose in the top menu and order to get them delivered to your mail box. Cake Stickers can last up to one year and 6 months for printed cake stickers.

To view designs move your mouse to the Cake Designs tab and chose your topic from the drop down menu. You may also click on this option to view a cake design introduction.

 

Choosing a design

 

1. Move mouse to Cake Design Tab
2. Select your Topic or Celebration
3. Browse Designs
4. Select your design
5. Add text and upload your photo

First thing First

 

Get a big one Gallon Bowl or some kind of potfor the cake mix:

Start by mixing the:

  • oil
  • water
  • eggs
  • and cake mix on the big bowl with a mixer tool or electrical mixer for 2 to 4 minutes.

Set Oven Timer

1. Pour Mix:

 

Pour mix in to cake pan evenly filling only half.

 

Before you pouring the cake mix you can use Oil and a napkin to moisturize the bottom of the pan or spray cooking oil to prevent the cake from sticking.

 

 

2. Oven:

 

Pre-heat oven on 350 degrees for about 3 minutes

 

 

3. Cake Oven:

 

Put your cake inside the pre-heated oven.

 

Make sure you don't leave you cake oven open more than necessary to prevent heat from escaping other wise you will need to pre-heat again.

 

 

 

4. Timer:

 

Set timer for 32 or 35 minutes for a round cake.

 

Normally the cake mix box includes time settings for cupcakes and quarter sheet cakes.

 

 

 

5. Check Cake:

 

When toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, your cake is done

 

 

6. Cooling Cake:

 

Allow to cool 10 to 15 minutes before removing cake from pan

 

 

7. Removing Cake:

 

To remove cake use a butter knife and slice around sides.


Apply your favorite frosting

 

You may choose Chocolate or Vanilla, in the example cake we use regular white vanilla frosting out from a can that has been made and ready to use

 

If your cake has a cupcake shape you can use the bottom to make a strait top surface.

Top Frosting:

 

Use a butter knife or spatula to apply frosting.

 

 

 

Side Frosting:

 

You can use wax paper to avoid spills.

 

 

 

Finished frosting:

 

If you use butter cream or whipped cream its OK to apply your cake sticker.

 

 

 

Frosting borders:

 

In this example I did not use frosting border piping, normally bakers apply borders after the cake sticker is on the cake.

You will need:

 

  • Wax paper
  • Piping Bag
  • Piping Tube Tips
  • Extra Icing

 


Inside the Freezer

 

To prepare edible cake photos & Pictures put them inside freezer for 30 seconds.

 

Cake Stickers are mostly made of water and sugar winch will get harden when exposed to extreme cold temperatures.

Peel Off:

 

Gently start to peel around corners to remove and lift with hands - You can also use a butter knife to lift your cake sticker from base paper.

 

 

 

 

Cutting your cake:

 

Cake Stickers cannot be removed once you have them on top of the cake. Cutting cake with edible cake stickers will be just normal and soft.

 

 

 

If you cake sticker is hard to cut, you probably left it out of it's bag and you will need to leave it on for a little while until it get soft again.

 

 

 

 

Image Dissolves: 

 

When a cake sticker is used to decorate the edible paper starts dissolving instantly giving a paint brush look.
